Craig Estep is going on the adventure of a lifetime as the grand prize winner* of the Wanna Be Like Jack Hanna contest! Craig will be spending six weeks at Mantis Field Guide Academy, located at the world-renowned Shamwari Game Reserve in South Africa. While attending the Mantis Field Guide Academy, Craig will have the once-in-a-life opportunity to learn what it takes to lead safaris in Africa.
After watching Craig’s video, Jack Hanna exclaimed, "I just can’t stop smiling after watching his video – his creativity and enthusiasm are so contagious!"
In his application, Craig stated, “I deeply wanted to major in zoology. Instead I studied music but have always had the desire, love and commitment to work with animals. I often dream of going to Africa to volunteer at an animal orphanage or work at a zoo. My 50th birthday is August 5 of 2011. This birthday gift would fulfill a life-long dream.”
Craig will also appear on the Emmy-winning nationally syndicated television series Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild, filmed at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium!
First runner-up*, Cassandra Stull of Delaware, OH, is headed to New York City to see the animal handlers in action behind-the-scenes at one of Jack Hanna’s in-studio TV interviews. Bret Muter of Saginaw, MI, the second runner-up*, will experience a three-day VIP tour and shadowing experience at the world famous Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
Our hats also go off to Rebecca Long and Elizabeth Tapanes, the third and fourth runners-up, for their amazing dedication to wildlife! They will be receiving a package from Jungle Jack and the opportunity to spend a day at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
