Rides

 

RIDE CARDS NOW AVAILABLE!
As a convenience beginning this year, the Zoo will offer a reloadable ride card that guests can utilize while at the Zoo. Ride cards can be purchased from Kiosks throughout the Zoo and at each ride. Old tokens and ride cards can be exchanged for a reloadable ride card at the Zoo's front gate.
 
All day ride writsbands are also available for $15 (not valid on pony rides).  
 

NEW IN 2008 - Experience the thrill of Jungle Jack's Landing NOW OPEN!

Carousel
Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, weather permitting. Cost is $1

Located on the west side of the Zoo near Bob and Evelyn’s Roadhouse, enjoy the upbeat sounds and the thrill of riding on our authentic 1914 Mangel-Illions Carousel complete with 52 original horses, chariots and band organ. 

North American Train
Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, weather permitting. Cost is $1
Take your adventure from the trails to the tracks and witness the sights and sounds of North American wildlife on the train ride located in the North America region. 

 
Pony Ride
Opening week of May 5, 2008. Cost is $4
Weekday hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting
Weekend hours: 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., weather permitting
Saddle up and take a load-off atop these easy-going partners located at My Barn. 

 

Islands of Southeast Asia Boat Rides
Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, weather permitting. Cost is $1
Enjoy smooth sailing through tropical islands and experience Asian animal antics on board the Islands of Southeast Asia Boat ride located near Bird Lake on the west side of the Zoo. 

Lorikeet Garden
Open 10 a.m. to close daily, weather permitting. Cost is $1
An amazingly up-close and personal birding experience where Australian birds land on your shoulder to indulge in sweet cups of nectar, the Lorikeet Garden is located on the west side of the Zoo in the Voyage to Australia and the Islands.

Grange Insurance Stings, Wings N’ Play Things Park 

Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
Let your little bugs out for a creepy, crawly play date with caterpillar and centipede slides.  There is an insect encounter for even the littlest bugs.  This play park is located near Bob and Evelyn’s Roadhouse on the west side of the Zoo. Must be under 54" to play.
