Full-time Education positions available at the Wilds
Conservation Education Specialist - Curriculum-based Program & Public Interpretation Coordinator
The Conservation Education Specialist works to fulfill educational program development and service aspects of the Wilds mission with direct oversight of curriculum-based day and overnight school programs, and public interpretation. This includes program and curriculum research, development, implementation and evaluation; program scheduling and delivery; coordinating maintenance of facilities, vehicles, program supplies and other equipment; promotion; safety; seasonal staff recruitment, training and supervision; and all other activities. This position is full-time and includes a benefits package. Hours vary and will include evening and weekend activities. This position reports to the Director of Conservation Education and works closely with the Conservation Education Specialist- Summer Camp and Scout Coordinator. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in education, science, or a related field; a minimum of two years experience teaching in the outdoors; one year supervisory experience; and demonstrated experience in informal science programming and curriculum design. Individuals must be comfortable in outdoor environments, able to hike long distances and competent to supervise and participate in recreational activities.
