Columbus Zoo Docent Association

The Columbus Zoo Docent Association is an independent, voluntary, nonprofit organization. The main responsibility of this program is to promote the education, recreation, conservation and scientific-study objectives of the Columbus Zoo. To fulfill these obligations, Docents act as tour guides, give educational talks both on and off Zoo grounds and are stationed throughout the Zoo to provide information to visitors about the Columbus Zoo and its animal collections. The Docent Association consists of more than 300 members, age 21 through senior citizen, who successfully complete 50 hours of training and donate a minimum of 50 hours per year thereafter.
