Powell, OH – The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will host its annual Teddy Bear Safari from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on August 11. Children ages 2 to 9 who bring a teddy bear on this day will receive complimentary admission when accompanied by a paying adult.
Nationwide Children’s Hospital clinic volunteers will be on site offering medical attention to the teddies at the “Bear Care Den” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Children are invited to bring their special friends for wellness checkups and more. Stations will be stocked with stitches and Band-Aids to patch up scrapes and minor bear “boo boos” in an effort to teach children about their own annual check-ups before heading back to school.
In addition to the teddy bear clinic, visitors can watch some of their favorite animals beat the heat while receiving ice blocks filled with treats during “Block and Roll.” Kids can also take part in character ambassador meet and greets throughout the day and a Junior HOOFit Safari, presented by OhioHealth, at 11 a.m.
Teddy Bear Safari is made possible by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and OhioHealth. Zoombezi Bay admission is not included.
