Powell, OH – Are you looking for a best friend you can rely on? The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is the place to “Meet Your Best Friend” Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Colo’s Cove picnic area.
Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo is a day dedicated to the celebration of domestic animals. Guests may adopt a new pet after visiting numerous dogs, cats, ferrets and rabbits from more than 12 different organizations. Some of the organizations participating include the Humane Society serving Clark County, a Purrfect Start, Central Ohio Sheltie Rescue, A.D.O.P.T. Pet Rescue, Columbus Rabbit Society, Greyhound Adoption of Ohio, Louisville Weimarainer Rescue Inc., Pawsitive Outcomes, Cat Welfare Association, Franklin County Dog Shelter and the Humane Society of Delaware County. Staff from these organizations will be on hand to answer any questions and provide assistance with choosing the best pet for you.
Due to adoption policies, animals will not be able to go home with their new family that day. Arrangements can be made for their pickup at their animal shelters.
In past years, Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo has been an amazing success in finding many adorable animals loving homes. Please join the Zoo and these wonderful animal organizations this weekend to meet the newest member of your family.
Access to this event is included with the daily ticket price and free for Columbus Zoo members. For discounted admission tickets visit your local Kroger store.
