Prepare For A Plunge At Polar Frontier

Powell, OH – Special Olympics Ohio and the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium welcome the Polar Plunge to the Zoo for the second year on Sat. February 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Polar Plunge at the Columbus Zoo is one of nine Polar Plunge fundraising events in Ohio to raise funds for Special Olympics Ohio.  A donation will also be made to the Polar Bear Conservation Fund on behalf of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for hosting.
Plungers, cheered on by the Zoo’s own Polly Polar Bear, will jump into a swimming pool filled with ice-cold water near the Polar Bear habitat at Polar Frontier. Before jumping, plungers are asked to raise a minimum of $75. High school and college students can participate by raising $50.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. followed by the plunge which takes place from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Non-plungers will be charged a $10 Zoo entry fee which includes entry to the Post Plunge Party where guests will enjoy food and Pepsi products and entertainment provided by CD101. Zoo admission is also included.

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is open 363 days a year 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. after Labor Day.  General admission is $14.00 for adults, $9.00 for children ages 2 to 9 and $10.00 for seniors 60+.  Children under 2 and Columbus Zoo members are free.
