Powell, OH – Guests who want to visit the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium but can’t make the trip can now visit virtually via a computer or mobile device thanks to Nationwide Insurance. Four high-definition cameras will stream live views of the penguin habitat, brown bear yard, aviary in Australia and the Islands and Discovery Reef aquarium 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Become a virtual Zoo guest by visiting www.YourZooView.com, select the area you would like to visit and take control of the camera. Each camera runs on a queuing system and allows each user to control the camera for 60 seconds at a time.

“We are thrilled that the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will now be accessible to those who can’t make the trip here,” said Dale Schmidt, president and CEO of the Columbus Zoo. “Thanks to Nationwide’s sponsorship of the Zoo, Jack Hanna’s television shows and now YourZooView.com, millions of people around the globe have the opportunity to see the Columbus Zoo at their convenience.”

Nationwide Insurance has been a long-time supporter of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, dating back to Jack Hanna's early days as Zoo director in the 1970s.

“Our long-standing support of the Columbus Zoo underscores our commitment to the Central Ohio community,” said John Aman Jr., associate vice president, strategic sponsorships, Nationwide Insurance. “YourZooView gives people the chance to visit the nation’s top zoo.”

Nationwide and the Zoo are the co-presenting sponsors of Jack Hanna’s television shows, ”Jack Hanna’s Wild Countdown” and “Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild.” These weekend shows bring fun, educational, and inspirational family-friendly animal stories into the living rooms of nearly 200 million households each year.  Nationwide was a major supporter of Polar Frontier and has helped the Zoo take its guest service to the next level with the addition of the Nationwide Zoo Crew.  This specialized Zoo staff’s main goal is to put smiles on the faces of Zoo guests and leave them with memories that will last a lifetime.
