donkey grazing

Cautious, not stubborn!

Donkeys communicate in a variety of ways, including movement of their tail and ears. Male donkeys may bite other males to defend their territory!  With members of their own group, they will often lean on one another or touch muzzles. Their excellent hearing allows them to hear the distinctive "hee-haw" of another donkey almost two miles away!

Domestic donkeys, as you see here, do not have a conservation status. African wild donkeys are listed as critically endangered.

OhioHealth Tip: One thing to remember when it comes to exercise: it all counts.   What may be more important than a set exercise routine is to increase your total daily activity. A simple pedometer or fitness tracker can be a great way to promote more regular activity.
