Plan Ahead for a Comfortable Visit
We want your day at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium to be as fun and stress-free as possible. Whether you’re bringing little ones, need extra mobility support, or just want a safe spot to store your gear, we’ve got you covered.
Wheelchairs, electric scooters, strollers, and lockers are available to rent on a first-come, first-serve basis—helping you focus on making memories, not carrying the extras.
While personal strollers, wheelchairs and electric scooters are allowed at the Columbus Zoo, we also have units available for rent on a first-come, first serve basis. Visit the Rentals desk just inside the main entrance of the Zoo.
Wheelchairs and Electric Scooters
Wheelchairs and scooters are intended for assistance to individuals needing help with mobility, not as recreational devices. Please note that these scooters are not an ADA-compliant mobility device.
- Guests must be at least 18 years of age to operate a scooter.
- The maximum weight capacity is 300 lbs.
- For safety reasons, no children are allowed on the unit. Only one guest is allowed in the unit at a time.
Battery life varies based on several factors, especially the rider’s weight. For example, a 150 lb. rider may experience longer battery life than a 300 lb. rider. Terrain and visit length also affect performance. If the battery runs low, a replacement scooter or charger will be provided when available.

Locker Rental
Locker deposits are refunded when the locker key and receipt are returned to the rental counter.
Cost: $8 (+ a $5 deposit and tax)
