Unlimited visits all year long, free parking, and more.
Planning a day out with family or friends often means thinking about the budget, especially when the cost of everyday expenses continues to add up. At the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, we want guests to feel welcome, find an option that works for their budget, and know they're getting a full day of experiences with every visit.
As Ohio's largest zoo and one of the largest zoos in the country, the Columbus Zoo spans more than 600 acres with eight unique regions featuring animals from around the world. There's a lot to explore, and there are also plenty of ways to save. From discounted afternoon admission and weekday tour pricing to community programs and affordable membership options, a little planning can make your Zoo visit easier on the wallet.
Here are some of the best ways to save on your next visit to the Columbus Zoo.

Have a few free hours after lunch? Zoo After 2 is back!
From September 8-30, 2026, Monday through Friday, guests can enter the Zoo between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. at a special discounted price:
That gives you three hours to visit your favorite animals, explore a zoo region in-depth, grab an afternoon treat or simply enjoy a walk around the Zoo before closing time. Zoo After 2 tickets are valid for daytime Zoo admission and do not include admission to the separately ticketed Lantern Festival.

Want to experience the Zoo during the day AND see it glow after dark? During Lantern Festival season, the Roar and Return Pass offers another way to save!
The two-part ticket lets guests purchase daytime Zoo admission along with discounted admission to the Columbus Zoo Lantern Festival. Better yet, you don't have to experience both on the same day (but you’re welcome to). Visit the animals during regular Zoo hours, then return for Lantern Festival on a separate eligible date if that works better for you.
The Columbus Zoo Lantern Festival runs August 20 through October 25, 2026, on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Thousands of colorful, hand-crafted Asian lanterns fill the Zoo, including wildlife scenes, larger-than-life displays and new dinosaur lanterns for 2026.
It's two very different Columbus Zoo experiences with one ticket option designed to help you save.
Those aren't the only discounts available. Depending on how you're visiting, where you live or memberships you already have, there may be another way to lower the cost of your Zoo day.
