In 2027, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will celebrate its centennial, marking 100 years since the Zoo first opened in Central Ohio in 1927.

Our Story
For generations, the Columbus Zoo has been part of the lives of families throughout Ohio and around the globe. What began a century ago has grown into a place where millions of guests have connected with wildlife, discovered the natural world, made lifelong memories, and learned how each of us can play a role in protecting animals and their habitats.
As the Columbus Zoo approaches its 100th anniversary, we're preparing to celebrate the people, wildlife, milestones, and memories that have shaped our first century, while looking ahead to what's next!
