The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is proud to partner with Dress for Success to host a clothing recycling drive in celebration of Earth Day!
We invite the community to give gently used professional clothing a second life by donating items that help women prepare for job interviews, work, and career advancement.
Accepted items that you can donate include:
- Gently used and clean women's professional clothing (Blouses, blazers, dresses, skirts, and dress pants)
- Gently used and clean women's professional shoes and accessories (handbags, belts, scarves, and jewelry)
- Personal care items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and conditioner)
- New and unused makeup, bras, and panties
Items Not Accepted
- Damages, stained, or heavily worn cloth; clothing with odors
- Casual clothing such as athletic wear, pajamas, or lounge wear
- Undergarments (unless new with tags)
- Household goods or non-clothing items
Dress for Success primarily accepts feminine-presenting professional attire. However, we welcome additional clothing donations as well—any items not accepted by Dress for Success, such as men’s and children’s items, will be collected and shared with other local nonprofit partners so that nothing goes to waste and can be repurposed. If donating multiple categories, please separate men’s and children’s items from women’s items to help our team sort donations efficiently.
Even if you do not plan on visiting the Zoo this day, you can still participate in the donation drive!
Upon arrival, let the parking booth attendant know you are participating in the recycling drive and you will be able to enter the parking lot at no charge. Once inside the parking lot, turn left, and you will see the collection container. Please follow the cones once inside the lot.
