Earth Day Celebration Weekend: Protect our Species

Even though every day is Earth Day at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, we invite you to join us for this eco-celebration like no other!

Together we can celebrate Mother Earth while learning how to make better choices for the planet and all its living creatures. This two-day event will feature live entertainment, activity booths hosted by local environmentally focused organizations, Character Ambassador meet and greets, and more!

What's Included?

Conservation Activity Stations

Be sure to stop by various activity stations just inside the entrance hosted by environmentally focused local organizations! Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about protecting the environment in a fun, interactive way.

Party for the Planet

Learn about the importance of being green through this high energy party for the planet, dancing and other activities near the large map in Conservation Courtyard! In the event of inclement weather, the party may be moved inside the pavilion.

Party Times: 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.

Character Ambassador Meet and Greets

The Zoo’s Character Ambassadors will be out and about to celebrate spring. Be sure to stop by Lakeside Pavilion and say hello to get a memorable photo with your pals! In the event of inclement weather, the meet and greets will be moved inside the pavilion.

Character Ambassador Rolling Celebrations 

Now’s the time to party with our Character Ambassadors as they roll through the Zoo on a musical train that’s out of this world!

Keeper Talks

Guests have the unique opportunity to learn from the Zookeepers themselves as they present fun, informative sessions about the species that they care for daily.
