Baby Elephant Viewing
TWO Asian elephant calves have arrived at the Columbus Zoo!
Baby #1, Rita Jean, is now four months old and can be seen with her mom, Sunny, and the rest of the herd in the Zoo's elephant habitat.
Baby #2, Oliver ("Ollie"), was born on October 21, 2025, and has been bonding with his mom, Phoebe, and other members of the herd, including Sunny and his half-sister, Rita Jean. The two calves are interacting and playing together as they grow!
| Rotational Viewing | Regular Zoo Hours | Asia Quest Region |
Elephant viewing is available daily. However, herd members rotate throughout the day to allow all elephants time in the Elephant Community Room. As part of these rotations, guests may not always see the calves. These schedules support the calves’ routines and the wellbeing of the entire herd. Thank you for your understanding.
The Teams Behind it All
The Elephant Care team and Conservation Medicine team have been working around the clock to ensure the herd has what it needs to thrive. Join us in thanking them, and all of the Animal Care teams at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium!
